Your paddle is your sole means of propulsion, it pays not to lose it! A paddle leash is an essential item for sea kayaking. At KAYAK UK we take your safety seriously - we offer a very affordable paddle leash, so there is no excuse for not having one. There are two schools of thought regarding the length of leash, the short school and the long school. The Kaskazi paddle leash comes in two lengths to suit either preference. The Kaskazi paddle leash is simple to use. There is a Velcro fastened collar which attaches around your paddle shaft. The elastic cord is finished in a plastic safety clip, which will not corrode. If you prefer the long paddle leash simply attach the clip to any of the deck eyes that is convenient for you. To use the short paddle leash, my own preference, simply slip your hand through the loop at the end with the clip in the middle of it, your paddle is now secured to you. To safely put your paddle down, to take a photograph of the dolphins playing beside you perhaps, just clip the leash to an eye and it is safely secured to the kayak. The advantage of the short leash is there is no chance of tangling with it or it getting snagged on your deck bag or kit.
